25 Years of the IPCC - Susan Solomon

In 1988 the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to provide the world with a clear scientific view on the current state of knowledge in climate change and its potential environmental and socio-economic impacts. In December of the same year the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) endorsed the action by UNEP and WMO to establish the IPCC.
2013 marks the 25th year that IPCC has been in existence. We asked former and current IPCC bureau members and heads of the parent institutions to give us their thoughts on this.
