Adding Benzyl Protecting Group Mechanism | Organic Chemistry

The mechanism for the addition of a benzyl protection group by using benzyl bromide and sodium hydride. The benzyl group can subsequently be deprotected by using a palladium catalyst, most commonly palladium on carbon.
