The Vizio P65QX-H1 is the most dependable 65 inch TV we've examined for watching HDR. Vizio's flagship 4k LED model from their 2020 lineup gives an excellent HDR experience. It supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, so you can comfortably watch your preferred HDR content no matter what format it's in. This TV is well-built and has an excellent design that should look great in any setup. The P-Series Quantum X has Apple AirPlay and Chromecast built-in so that you can cast apps straight from your cooperative, smart device to the TV over your Wi-Fi network; you can also download apps directly to the TV recognition to the onboard SmartCast OS. Its four HDMI ports present connections to digital HD devices such as Blu-ray Disc players, cable/satellite boxes, gaming systems, and more. You can control the TV with the included remote control or using your voice within your Google Assistant-, Amazon Alexa-, or Apple Siri-enabled device. It's crammed with gaming specialties like VRR and HDMI 2.1 support, but it skips frames when displaying 4k @ 120Hz content in 'Game' mode, so it's not an excellent choice for the PS5 or Xbox Series X. However, it still has a low input lag and quick response time. Besides these minor issues, it's the best 65 inch 4k TV that we've tested for HDR.
The Hisense 65H9G is a cheap, capable television worth checking out if you're after a 65-inch 4K TV without the eye-watering price. It'sIt's also great for watching HDR films, especially in dark rooms, because it has excellent peak brightness, a perfect contrast ratio, superb local dimming, and a broad color gamut. On top of that, it has excellent gradient handling and supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Sadly, it has small viewing angles expected from a VA panel, so it's not suggested for a comprehensive seating system. It also has mediocre out-of-the-box efficiency, so you may want to get it calibrated to enjoy it to the fullest, but this might vary between units. It gives a very similar design to last year's H9F, and while it's not certain all that flashy, it still offers a few fresh touches that keep the firm ahead of the curve in this price range. It shines where it counts. It doesn't contribute great audio or a flashy design, but it has superior image quality, a generally responsive Android TV, and some other helpful, innovative traits. This is arguably one of the best TVs under $1,000.
The Q80T isn't the fanciest QLED out there, but it offers a lot, as the most affordable QLED launched with a full-array backlight last year, indicating you don't have to skimp with an edge-lit display. It's an attractive choice for gamers, given consistently low input lag to guarantee your gaming console of choice – PS5, Xbox Series X, or otherwise – is funneling video output to your screen with a slight delay as possible, at just 8.7ms image lag. The set's dedicated Game Motion Plus setting decreases judder and blur for more fluid gameplay, at a still-respectable 19.7ms lag too. It has outstanding color accuracy out-of-the-box and an exceptional HDR color gamut to produce a broad range of colors. Its viewing angles are OK thanks to Samsung's 'Ultra Viewing Angle' layer, so you don't miss too much image accuracy when seen from the side.
