Drum covers: it's hard to overstate the importance of our newfound ability to "simulate" a band, and share your drumming online or on social media. 15 years ago, it didn't exist. You had to record a gig, or get a band into the studio with you. Or, if you were lucky enough to have the software, mics, and equipment to remove the drums from a track, then record yourself over it, where would you share it?

But now that practically any drummer with a smart phone and Garage Band can record themselves along with literally any track in the universe, if you're not challenging yourself to record drum covers, and sharing them online, you're missing out on a big part of the learning experience.

But how to begin still isn't obvious to all drummers, especially those who didn't learn any engineering, or who don't have any expensive mics, cameras, or software. Well, fear not. In this video, I'll show you how to make great drum covers even if all you have is an iphone and a zoom mic.
