Waimea Community Dam - water flows after rain, 12 April, 2024

After just two days of proper rain, the reservoir filled and the spillway spilled. The top of the reservoir had been 4 metres shy of the top of the spillway on Wednesday 10 April, but by Friday 12 April water was flowing down the spillway and we were able to manage a release from the valves to ensure optimal river levels. Fantastic to have the dam operational.
