Hamate Surgury- Pre and Post Op. Pretty Funny!! Very Common Baseball Injury

Ive been playing with a broken hook of the hamate bone for the past 2 months. If anyone has ever broken that bone they know how painful it is to swing a bat while its broken.

Trying to grab a starting spot on the high school team and help the team out anyway I could I pushed on as long as I could but.... In the end, the hamate will always win.

Between the pain getting worse, losing a lot of grip strength, and having to take less and less batting practice to swing the bat. I decided it was time to have that bone removed from my hand.

Recover on it if casted typically takes 6-8 weeks in a cast plus an additional 4-6 weeks of rehab- With a removal of the bone- your looking at 2-6 weeks for return to play, with no rehab on the back end.

Anyway I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. I thought y'all might think the recovery room footage was pretty good...
