Gimbal Walk TV visits Bibury in The Cotswolds famous for Arlington Row and The Bibury Trout Farm, and very popular with Japanese Tourists who visit in huge numbers!

Bibury (or バイベリーコッツウォルズイングランド as the Japanese visitors would call it) is nestled in the heart of The Cotswolds and is a very popular tourist destination with plenty of visitor attractions, landmarks and pretty village features that mean it's a must visit village.
Arlington Row is the most famous feature in this lovely place and Arlington Row is one of the most photographed streets in the whole of The Cotswolds. It was used as a filming location for the movie Stardust amongst other things, and is a stunningly beautiful row of cottages set by the side of the river.
Bibury itself is one of the prettiest villages in The Cotswolds with it's lovely gentle hills, it's river trickling through the countryside and the little bridges taking you over the stream to the houses, buildings, hotel and trout farm here. There are also a few little shops to spend time and money in.
No visit to this area is complete without a visit to Bibury Cotswolds England. The people here are friendly despite the huge numbers of tourists (in particular Japanese tourists) who come to visit the village and spend time here looking round the famous places like Arlington Row, or spending time paddling in the river or relaxing in the country fields.
The 19th-century artist and craftsman William Morris called Bibury "the most beautiful village in England" when he visited it. The village is known for its honey-coloured 17th-century stone cottages with steeply pitched roofs, which once housed weavers who supplied cloth for fulling at nearby Arlington Mill.

Bibury, on the banks of the River Colne, is rich in both history and nature. The cottages along Arlington Row are believed to have been built around 1380 as a monastic wool store and later converted into weavers' cottages in the 17th century. They are owned by the National Trust and are private homes
Bibury is situated close to Cirencester and Cheltenham, close to Burford and south of Bourton on the Water
The village is known for its honey-coloured 17th-century stone cottages with steeply pitched roofs, which once housed weavers who supplied cloth for fulling at nearby Arlington Mill. Until the 1980s, that building also housed the museum of Arlington Mill with a collection of period clothing, before it was shifted to Barnsley House. The Mill is now a private residence.
The place where the wool was hung to dry after being washed in Arlington Row, was known as "Rack Isle".
Bibury is particularly frequented by Japanese tourists. This is largely attributed to Emperor Hirohito having stayed in the village on his European tour. They know it as バイブリー.
The largest building in Bibury is Bibury Court, built in 1633 It is a Grade I listed building, and was recently a hotel.
