Thyagaraja Biography- Part 1

This video contains the first part of an extensive, but simple to follow biography of Thyagaraja who was one of the most renowned composers of Carnatic music.

He made innumerable contributions to Carnatic Music. Saint Thyāgarāja, a great devotee of Rāma, is the foremost among the composers (vāggeyakārās) of Carnatic music. No other musician has made as great a contribution to Carnatic music as Thyāgarāja. He was the musical genius, ever known in Indian music.
