ABOUT THE SERIES:
"Meet The Crotoonians" is an exciting companion series to "The Railways of Crotoonia" web series, introducing the ragtag cast of Crotoonia to unfamiliar audiences through a day in their lives. But their lives are never a dull moment, and each two/three-minute episode is full of adventure and surprises! From the steam engines to the mermaids, these are the ones who call Crotoonia home!

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:
Better late than never, eh?
This installment of Meet the Crotoonians was a fun load of firsts! This was our first short to have come from the Patreon's Executive Producer tier (where people can pitch us a 2-minute short), the first major short to be animated by @JurassicSteamRacer_13 (after assisting with Timbits and Loose Caboose), and the animation debut for the immensely talented @tippertophat ...and all blended beautifully to make a barrel of fun!
Using a simple pitch ("Tootle goes crashing into tar wagons"), I quickly found a way to utilize the expanding Wedgeton Airfield, the Crotoonian Construction Company, and Tootle (all of whom you'll be seeing more of soon!) with a simple and fun premise. While I'd intended to do the animation initially, the hectic schedule and burnout recovery of the last few months led me to giving this to Sean, who proceeded to finish it with help from TipperTopHat (who animated the Cliffstone scene and assisted on the final scene). Between Toony's comic hilarity in our last short, and this short nailing the subtle expressiveness it neded with some great comedic points, it feels nice to see how collaborating with others makes for a stronger production!
We'll be taking a break from Meet the Crotoonians til next year, but when we do...get ready to meet the gang that lives at Wedgeton!
