동네 옆집 아저씨 같은 케니 로저스의 이미지와는 달리 노랫말들이 드라마틱하고 무겁습니다 ^^;;  
죄를 저지르고 감옥에서 세상을 떠난 아버지. 그 아버지가 열살 난 아들 토미에게 마지막으로 이런 말을 남깁니다. "약속해다오, 아들아. 넌 절대 내가 저지른 잘못을 되풀이하지 않겠다고. 어떻게든 문제를 일으키지 마라. 남자라는 걸 보여주려고 싸울 필요는 없다.“
그 이후 아버지와의 약속을 지키기 위해 천하의 겁쟁이라는 놀림을 받으면서도 쥐죽은 듯 살아온 토미. 그런데 그런 그에게 베키라는 사랑하는 여성이 생기면서 엄청난 일이 생기는데요.
