Topic Description
This topic required pupils to recognise, name and describe the 8 basic shapes (triangle, square, rectangle, circle, pentagon, hexagon, trapezoid and parallelogram) in 2D and 5 basic shapes (cube, rectangular prism, sphere, cone and cylinder) in 3D from real objects and pictures (drawings and photographs).

Learning Targets
• I can use identify and name two and three dimensional shapes.
• I can classify shapes based on shape, size, colour and/or how they are placed.
• I can divide shapes into halves, three thirds and four fourths.
