Zunka Recipe (Jhunka) is a traditional Maharashtrian dish made using besan or chickpea flour. Zunka Bhakar is a very popular combination and is served throughout Maharashtra. this is a comforting and delicious Maharashtrian combination which is also a last-minute recipe! Whenever your have no time on your hands, prepared with gram flour it is actually a dry version of Pithla. The gram flour is cooked along with basic everyday ingredients to get a simple yet tasty side dish for your meals. You can add in some methi, palak, or spring onions to make this dish even more scrumptious. You can skip onions and make this recipe without onions and only with green chilies and garlic. Ingredients:
Oil 3-4 table spoons
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Ginger Garlic crsuhed - 1.5 tbsp
Coriander Leaves - a handful & for Garnish
2 large onion sliced
Salt to taste
Turmeric 1/2 Tsp
Red Chilly Powder 1 tsp
Masala Mix (either use Malvani or Kolhapuri dry masala) - 1.5 tbsp
Besan (gram flour) 1.5 cups
Asafoetida a Pinch
Water as required
