The Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram or the 1000 Names of Vishnu, praises Lord Vishnu, the preserver and protector of the universe in the Hindu trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva).  These names are organized into 108 verses, with each verse containing multiple names. Some of the well-known names include Govinda, Krishna, Narayana, Vāsudeva, and Mādhava. It is a part of the Anushāsana Parva of the Mahabharata.

The recitation or chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranama is considered a highly revered spiritual practice to bring peace, prosperity, and spiritual enlightenment to the devotee. The daily recitation of the Vishnu Sahasranama is considered a powerful spiritual practice in Hinduism, offering benefits for the mind, body, and soul, while deepening one's connection with the divine.

Sri Vishnusahasranamam has three parts namely “Purva Bhagam” which is primarily a conversation between King Yudhistira and Bhishmaarcharya, “Dhyanam” and secondly 1000 names of Bhagavan in 108 stanzas and finally “Uttara Bhagam” which describes the “phala sruthi” (benefits) of reciting Sri Vishnusahasranamam.

This video edition presents a humble effort to provide a slow and deliberate recital of the Vishnu Sahasranama. By slowing down the chanting, it aims to assist those who are learning the correct pronunciation while following along with the lyrics. This thoughtful approach is intended to be a useful resource for those seeking to master the recitation of this sacred hymn.
