Go into the conversation looking to learn something, not to prove something. When we go in to prove something, we're so convinced that we’re right, we want the other person on our side. So we start trying to manipulate or control or convince. Then the other person gets defensive and they stop listening. All of this adds up to not having a great conversation. But when you go in to learn something, you start asking questions and you're curious. You're going to have a way better conversation this way.
