This review was made possible thanks to the assistance of Peter Tyson who supplied us with a retail example of the Sony A95L as well as 55-inch LG G3 and Samsung S95C TVs for comparison. The A95L has the full benefits of second-generation QD OLED with its stunning colour volume and decent image uniformity, added to what Sony does best with image upscaling, motion and video processing which adds up to one of the very best OLED TVs of 2023. There is no such thing as the perfect TV and that is certainly true here with some areas slightly lacking compared to its peers when it comes to gaming and only offering two HDMI 2.1 ports with eARC on one of those. Plus, this is a very expensive TV when compared to the LG G3 and Samsung S95C as all of these TVs are very close to each other in terms of picture quality. But with that said, Sony continues to push forward the QD OLED case and does so with stunning image quality, motion reproduction and image processing and is clearly a Best in Class performer.

The good
Outstanding SDR, HDR10 and Dolby Vision accuracy and image quality
Stunning video upscaling, motion and XR processing
Great sound quality from Acoustic Surface Audio+
Google TV is stable and fast

The not so good
No Filmmaker Mode
AutoCal fixed to 2.2 gamma and 1D LUT
Only two HDMI 2.1 (48Gbps) inputs
Very expensive when compared to peers
