Moses Ingram is the latest in a long line of women and minorities to receive frankly disgusting abuse from Star Wars ‘fans’ - but this hasn’t yet happened when I started making this video. Initially, this video was merely a response to a shitty racist meme that went viral on r/StarWars.
This video is a lot of things, but at its core, it’s my attempt to unpack and unravel the ways that the dominant narratives of the modern Star Wars fanbase interact operate within memes and discourse, and result - almost invariably - in bigoted abuse and toxicity.
