Kohler Smart Choke Technology

Owner had trouble starting Engine and i finally got it to run but him not being mechanically inclined he still had issues. Found out the thermostat was bad. In ohms it should be reading 15 ohms + or - 10 according to what i read. I got like 1. The oil pressure switch was pushing  14 volts to the thermostat to heat coil. Problem was while trying to start the choke wouldnt stay closed, it would bounce open and closed at the butterfly. I attached a small spring to to help hold the choke closed at cold start. If its cold the the wind vane willl open just enough but with engine cold itll want to shut down again. Then the choke is held closed by the spring again and engine will continue running, until the thermostat heats up to do its job. Then the engine will continue to run as it should.
