The Battle of Gaugamela occurred
The Battle of Gaugamela occurred on October 1st, 331 BC.
Alexander the Great of Macedon was on a warpath against the Persian Empire. Revenge, in his mind, for Persian meddling in the Greek world.
In response, the Persians would assemble a force from across their Empire. The Macedonians would take on, what must have felt like, the entire world.
