A guide on how to set-up Redream on the SteamDeck. For some odd reason the guys at EmuDeck haven't (Currently) included ReDream into the Emulators selection and most just use Flycast.

Text Version on how to Install:
However if you want to set up and install ReDream here's how its done.

1) Download the program
2) Open it up, close it, some new files should be created
3) Go to steam and add a none-steam game, search for Redream main file and select that, it should be added to your library then
4) Next add your key if you have one
5) Create a new games folder within the redream one
6) Add your GDI games as separate folder files and for CDI just pop them in
7) Open Redream and add library and search for your games folder and select that.

Now for the super long part.
Q and A section because there's a LOT of issues.

Q : Do I need a Bios
A: No with ReDream you don't need one

Q: Which is better? Redream or Flycast?
A: simple ease of use I would say Flycast but if you want better looking Graphics and not have to mess with a bios then Redream

Q: Can I change the logos etc. on steam to match Redream itself
A: Yes you can but honestly I don't really see a point since you load up ReDream and then load the games from inside there.

Q: WHY do I need to install my games on the main SSD when I have an SD Card installed with my other games on there?
A: For some odd reason Redream cant seem to see the MicroSD Card which should have your other games installed on it. If you used EmuDeck then the other programs find your games in the games folder, however Redream cant seem to do this (Unless someone here has an answer I don't know about).

I tried dragging the SD Card manually into Redream but it refused to see it. The easiest solution I found was to just create a new games folder within ReDream and put the games in there.

Q: Ok so if I installed EmuDeck on my main SSD and dont have a MicroSD will I be able to use the same game library it created and if im currently using it for Flycast.
A: Yes if your just loading everything off 1 main hard drive then it should be able to use the same games folder. I only ran into the issue mentioned above with an SSD+MicroSD combo. If a Deck has EmuDeck and just an SSD then I found ReDream had no issue using the same folder because it only had an issue trying to see the MicroSD.

Q: Im having Audio stuttering issues when Docked but strangely not when in handheld mode.
A: This one really makes no sense to me at all because this is the ONLY program that does this for me. When in Handheld mode I have zero issues with Audio but when Docked to either my Official Deck/Jsaux I get audio stutter every few seconds. I tried changing the Audio options but nothing seemed to have improved this issue. I believe the Dev IS aware of the issue and should be looking on a solution.

Q: How do I sort my games out?
A: Convert your files into either CDI or GDI. If CDI then just pop them in the games folder but if their GDI they need there own folder with the files inside that.

Q: My games either show up blank or don't show up as a thumbnail at all.
A: The files need to be named correctly - IE Virtua Fighter 3TB and not something extended with long numbers at the end of it.
The library section sometimes needs to be refreshed as well in order to see if you've added new games or not.

Q: I'm having recording issues were I used Decky Recorder but the gameplay comes back choppy in places.
A: I believe this is an issue with ReDream itself and not Decky Recorder.

Q: Is buying a key/license worth it and is it trustworthy?
A: Yes its perfectly fine. I bought one myself and think its worth it since it improves the look and feel of the games.

Q: Can I import my save files over to the VMUs?
A: Yes but as far as I'm aware VMU explorer doesn't work for linux and as a result you'd need to do all your save transferring on a PC and then drag those vmu files over to the Deck and over write them.

Q: I can't get my controller to work or be recognised.
A: Redream should automatically see the Deck as the controller but if you connect a controller via the docks it should see those as the main port and adjust to what they are. I tested this with a 360, ko 360, steam pad, ps4, xbox1 and a few other pads.
If you wanted to use an actual Dreamcast pad you would need an adapter and have to input the layout manually.
