The House of Representatives under the leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez today officially launched the Strategic Mentoring and Research Training (SMART) Program, an internship program which will not only serve as a training ground for brilliant student-interns but will also be the pathway for their possible employment in the bigger Chamber.

The first batch of the HRep SMART Internship Program is composed of 32 students from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, Lyceum University of the Philippines, University of the Philippines-Visayas, University of Santo Tomas (UST), and Trinity University of Asia.
Speaker Romualdez underscored that the SMART
Program will give the interns a chance to share their enthusiasm and vigor as they get to experience and have a better understanding of the legislative process.

Among the House Members who attended the program launch are Representatives Jude Acidre (Party-list, TINGOG), Faustino Michael Carlos T. Dy III (5th Dist., Isabela) and Mark Go (Lone Dist., Baguio City).
