HLOOKUP is used for horizontal tables while VLOOKUP is used for vertical ones. Although using them is so similar. But the thing you should remember is that using HLOOKUP, you can look for data related to already known data, in the same COLUMN but different ROWS. But using VLOOKUP, you will find unknown data related to know data, in the same ROW but different COLUMNS.
