Too Many Zooz s’est fait connaitre sous terre, dans le métro new-yorkais, et se produit aujourd’hui un peu partout dans le monde. Les 3 fanfarons du groupe – Matt Doe à la trompette, Leo P au saxophone et King of Sludge aux percussions – proposent de la ‘BrassHouse’, comme ils définissent eux-mêmes leur musique, mixant fièrement sonorités jazz, hip hop, soul, funk ou encore techno.
Véritable phénomène, leurs vidéos cartonnent sur internet, si bien que le New York Post parlait d’eux il y a quelques mois comme « L’évènement musical le plus tendance en ce moment à New York »!
De New York à Paris, il n’y a qu’un (très long) pas, et c’est sur les berges du Quai de Valmy, non loin du centre artistique le Point Ephémère, que nous avons eu la chance de rencontrer cet ovni musical… Pour une session brute de décoffrage qui a secoué joyeusement tout le quartier! On s’écoute ‘Turtledactyl‘, un booster de moral terriblement efficace !
Too Many Zooz got renowned on the underground, deep down the New York subway, and perform today all around the world. The 3 partners in crime – trumpet player Matt Doe, saxophonist Leo P and drummer King of Sludge – delivers a ‘BrassHouse’ music, as they like to define it themselves, mixing proudly various styles such as jazz, hip hop, soul, funk and techno.
Becoming quite a musical phenomenon, their videos have such a huge success on the internet than The New York Post described them as « the most trendy musical event in New York right now« !
From New York to Paris, there’s just a (not so) small step; and we were lucky enough to meet this musical UFO on the Parisian riverbank… For a very raw session, who made the whole neighborhood wiggle! Let’s listen to ‘Turtledactyl‘, a very efficient mood booster !
