How to sew a vest / waistcoat.

This is a reversible vest/waistcoat. The pattern is made by drawing around an old shirt. It took me about three and half hours to sew - including feeding toddler mid-way through. If you took your time and used lighter and more suitable fabric I think you would get a much better result.
Regretting not putting on pockets. Husband thinks it needs buttons but I'm not really sure.
Still, it was a fun way to spend the morning.
