After looking at different options I think it's superior to other, more expensive machines if you consider ease of use, ease of clean up and cost per cup. Based on reviews I would also recommend Mr. Coffee ECM160 4-Cup Steam Espresso Machine on Amazon for 29.99. It steams espresso and steam froths the milk.
Update, November 2014: To make regular coffee just fill the reservoir to the 2 serving line with water and the carafe to the 1 serving line with water. Then use 3 tablespoons (adjust to taste) of coffee and brew on the "Latte" setting.
I now use a reusable filter.
The machine still works great and is used 2-3 times per week.

I use my Mr Coffee Latte Maker almost every morning. I've been using regular coffee for guests and either Tim Horton's decaf (from Amazon) or San Francisco Bay espresso grind decaf for my morning latte. I'm back to using paper filters not just for ease of clean up but also because one of my coffee expert friends told me that the paper improves the flavor by absorbing oils in the coffee beans.
Something new: I bought the Mr Coffee Espresso Machine and love it. I will make 4 servings of espresso and add it to the two serving portion of milk while it heats and froths in the Latte carafe. It's a great little machine that I picked up a year or so ago.
I buy my decaf beans at Costco and can espresso grind them at the store.
