You are not deliberately sabotaging your relationship, your mind and body have recognised the abuse for what it was and you’re rebelling against your social conditioning which is still saying “he’s a nice guy, must be something wrong with me”!! ✋🏽🎙️ The problem is that this narrative of “you must adjust”, “he didn’t mean it like that” or “at your age who else will want you” has existed for too long, the real problem is that there is no real push to change it!!! I’m horrified at the number of mothers who say to me “there’s so much fuss these days about nothing, we all faced these issues but we learnt how to deal with it.” First of all, this NOT “nothing” Second, you know exactly how horrible the situation could be, why aren’t you more proactive in wanting to change it for your kids!! Your daughters are not cattle to be sold to “whoever will have them”. They’re human beings. Nurture them, give advice and support, encourage them to be independent so they can live their happiest lives. 😭
