The New Providence colony on Jouret IV as been ripped away from the planet's surface, no sign remains of the 900 hundred inhabitants. A short time later, the U.S.S. Lalo disappears after possible contact with a Borg vessel, Starfleet orders the Enterprise to investigate. Meanwhile, Admiral Hanson begins preparations for a possible Borg invasion.
