Heavy rain pounds northern India, Japan and New York

Extreme weather events are sweeping across the globe. From India to Japan to New York, heavy rainfall has been battering cities, claiming the lives of many and triggering mass evacuations. Torrential downpours have ravaged northern India. At least 22 people have been killed. The deluge has triggered landslides and flash floods. New Delhi was among the worst hit, recording its heaviest daily rainfall in about 40 years.
