A perimeter fence is very important, and fencing across a creek, river, lake or any other body of water can be a challenge. We installed this game fence around the entire perimeter of our property to keep the animals in and the deer, elk and other animals out.
One of the challenges of fencing across moving water is the fact that debris can hook onto the fence and build up over time. This can create a lot of weight and drag which can destroy the fence and drag it away. If your creek or river floods like ours does in the spring you will have to be extra careful and even lift the bottom of the fence out of the water for the months that the water is high. Posts are not recommended as it restricts the fence from lifting and letting debris pass under.
