Amtrak celebrated 50 years on the rails back on May 1, 2021. As part of their 50th Anniversary, a few other locomotives were painted in various Amtrak paint schemes. Amtrak 161 (Phase I), Amtrak 301 (Day One), Amtrak 108 (Phase VI), Amtrak 160 (Phase III Pepsi Can), and Amtrak 100 (Midnight Blue). In fact, we were very fortunate to see a good bunch of these 50th Anniversary locomotives riding the rails as well as some of Amtrak’s remaining 40th Anniversary Heritage Units. With this year coming to a close, we decided to put a video together featuring some Amtrak trains we filmed so far in 2021. So it’s only fitting that we would dedicate this video to everyone at Amtrak for their 50th Anniversary. Let us know what your favorite Amtrak Heritage Unit is in the comment section below!
