The Prince of Renaissance art patrons, Lorenzo de' MEDICI, aka "the Magnificent", culminated the exceptional patronage policies initiated by his grandfather and continued by his father.
Thanks to their great wealth, but also to their excellent artistic and literary taste, the patronage of the Medici family was an essential factor in the amazing cultural splendor of Renaissance Florence.
Florentine art, in its turn, influenced the whole of Italy, as many Florentine artists were eagerly sought after, and "exported" themselves everywhere. Conversely, many first–class artists from other Italian cities were attracted to Florence, where they could get the best training of the time.
In time, the powerful cultural earthquake initiated by the Italian Renaissance had very strong repercussions all over Europe, influenced of course by local talent and traditions.
