In this video we talk about why Atari Coin Op games of the mid 1980's came out on the NES when Atari Corp had their own console on the market in the Atari 7800.  The answer is pretty simple, but I'll throw in some additional facts about Time Warner, Jack Tramiels purchase of Atari, GCC and their work and payment on the 7800, and more.

Here's the Gaming Historians excellent video on Tengen Vs Nintendo as promised!  Its great and gives more context to this video!  Tengen: Atari Games vs. Nintendo

If you enjoy this video then check out some of my previous videos that include a look at the first Atari Flashback, a first impression of the Atari VCS, and full rankings of the Atari 7800 Retail library and collection of prosystem homebrew games!  I also do reviews mostly on 7800 games, but I did my first multiplatform modern game earlier this week in Yars Recharged.

If your interested in joining the Atari community there is always AtariAge, but Atari IO has a thriving community as well and is a great alternative.  Also, atari7800forever.com has written reviews on every 7800 game, including some that I wrote, so you can check that out for the 7800 specifically!

I am now on social media, including Facebook, X (I still cant believe Twitter is now just X, that's dumb), and Instagram.  Just search for 7800 Pro Gamer and you'll find me, and you'll be able to keep up on all my videos and background information.  I do have a patreon but meh, I'll promote that later.

Incomputech.com is a great resource for royalty free music that you can use free of charge in your videos.  Kevin MacLeod has been providing this stuff forever now, and if your doing any sort of project then check it out.  Just give him credit like I am below!

The 7800 Pro Gamer channel has 3 goals (besides entertainment) that I hope embodies everything the channel does:
1. Bring awareness to Atari, especially the often ignored Tramiel and 7800 era
2. Make sure the hardworking people both new and old (from the old guard at Atari corp to the new developers keeping the 7800 alive) get the recognition that they deserve for their hard work
3. Preserve the history of the 7800 in the video game hobby so that it survives long after us
