3 CASES in which it IS NOT CONVENIENT to fit a HEAT PUMP Reading on the internet I often see that the heat pump always seems to be the solution to every problem. In fact, those who praise it everywhere and only tell about its benefits most likely want to sell it to you. But if you only know the pros and don't know the cons of a product, how can you choose independently? Don't worry... Green Solutions is here for this! So let's see together the 3 cases in which the Heat Pump is not convenient: 1. IF YOU HEAT WITH METHANE Every investment must bring results. The economic benefits must be able to cover the expense incurred in the shortest possible time, otherwise it would not be an economically advantageous investment. Right?? Well… If you heat with expensive fuels, such as LPG and diesel, the heat pump can pay for itself quickly because you can save thousands of euros a year, even without installing photovoltaics. Obviously if you mount it you only have to gain. If, on the other hand, you heat up with natural gas, the economic benefits are much smaller and, without the combination with a photovoltaic system, the heat pump would not be convenient. Spend 10,000, deduct 6500, save 400€, spend more than 10 years and realize that it doesn't make much sense… However, if you have a roof available and another €10,000 to invest in a photovoltaic system, savings can triple: spend €20,000, deduct €11,500, save €1,500, the investment will repay itself in just over 6 years. 2. IF YOU DON'T HAVE GOOD INSULATION We start from the assumption that an insulated house consumes much less than a non-insulated one, but if we want to get the most out of a heat pump we must go and insulate the house as much as possible. Why? Simple: to optimize savings we have to make the heat pump work in combination with the right photovoltaic? 3. IF YOU DON'T HAVE UNDERFLOOR HEATING Whether you like it or not, the heat pump is ideal for low temperature systems. Point. Does it work on radiators too? It depends, but the right combination is heat pump + radiant floor. Stop. Remember that we are not looking for the absolute best product, but for the right product. At low temperatures, heat pumps give the best result, consume less and become really convenient. In fact, the technical data sheets all refer to delivery temperatures of 35°C. How come? Because they are born and work better at those temperatures. If you have a radiator system, the heat pump starts to limp: it consumes a lot, makes little and, consequently, does not generate savings capable of covering the initial cost. But let's assume that you are stubborn and want, despite everything, to put the heat pump in combination with your radiator system. You have 2 ways: a) Put in a commercial heat pump, the kind that don't produce at low temperatures and consume thousands of kilowatt hours. If you did nothing you were in the same condition (cold + high cost) but at least you hadn't spent €10,000 on a useless product. If it suits you and you come from an expensive fuel (LPG/diesel) perhaps you can reach €1,000 in savings. b) You buy a professional heat pump which costs 30%. You warm up, save some pennies and realize you've made the right choice, happy to have spent the extra €5-8,000 on a valid product. Are the return times the same as those with a floor system? Unfortunately not… This is why I say that the heat pump is ideal with the floor. On radiators you have to choose the right products and spend more to get similar benefits. Spend more, same benefit, lower convenience. SOCIAL 🤳 FACEBOOK: bit.ly/FB-SoluzioniGreen INSTAGRAM: bit.ly/IG-SoluzioniGreen TIKTOK: bit.ly/TIKTOK-SoluzioniGreen #heatpump #soluzionigreen #threecases
