ஜ what is a "baile funk?" originated in the 1980s, it's a typical party in brasil. it has very unique characteristics, such as very loud speakers with bass boosted, usually happens at the suburbs, the dances are very similar to twerk, and so on. it has strong influence of the black movements of the 1970s that were happening in the US. in these parties, the songs usually played were from black artists, like james brown for example. the word "funk" was used to refer to all the genres played at these parties (hip hop, latin freestyle, electro funk, and so on). in the 1990s, the funk carioca (funk from rio de janeiro) was born, and until today it has it's very unique sound and style.
