In today’s tutorial, I’m going to show you how to adjust your mouse’s sensitivity in Windows.

To get started:
1. Go into the Windows start bar, and type in mouse settings, and select the mouse settings search result.
2. A mouse settings dialog window will now open up.
3. Now click on the “Additional mouse settings” option located underneath the related settings section.
4. A mouse properties window will now appear.
5. Now click on the “Pointer options” tab.
6. From here you can easily adjust your pointer’s speed. Personally for me I like to have it on the fastest option, since it makes navigating around my computer much easier.
7. Below the pointer speed option, you also have a checkbox which allows you to enhance your pointers precision. By default this setting is turned on.
8. To save your settings, now click on the “Save” button.

Why is changing a mouse's sensitivity useful?
Changing a mouse's sensitivity in Windows can be useful for several reasons, as it allows users to customize their mouse experience based on personal preferences and usage scenarios. Here are some reasons why adjusting mouse sensitivity can be beneficial:

Precision and Control:
- Higher sensitivity: Allows for quick movements and cursor travel across the screen with minimal physical mouse movement. This can be useful for tasks that require rapid navigation, such as gaming.
- Lower sensitivity: Provides finer control and precision, which is beneficial for tasks that require accuracy, like graphic design or detailed photo editing.

Gaming:
Gamers often adjust mouse sensitivity based on the type of game they are playing. For fast-paced action games, a higher sensitivity may be preferred, while strategy or first-person shooter games may benefit from lower sensitivity for precise aiming.

Workspace Constraints:
Users with limited desk space may prefer higher sensitivity settings to cover more screen space with less physical movement of the mouse.

Personal Comfort:
Different individuals have different preferences when it comes to mouse sensitivity. Allowing users to customize sensitivity settings ensures a more comfortable and personalized computing experience.

Hardware Variability:
Different mice have different sensitivity levels, and users may switch between mice with varying sensitivity. Adjusting sensitivity in Windows helps maintain a consistent feel across different input devices.

Accessibility:
Users with certain physical conditions or disabilities may find it more comfortable to use a mouse with adjusted sensitivity settings that suit their specific needs.

Energy Efficiency:
In scenarios where power consumption is a concern, lower sensitivity settings may reduce the amount of physical movement required, potentially saving energy.
