The Career of a Public Servant

In this course, we focus primarily on the role of career public servants rather than on elected officials. For the purposes of our discussion, a public servant is a government official or employee.

The career public servant or public administrator plays a critical role in the delivery of public service. There are four primary reasons to differentiate career public employees and elected officials. In this course, we explore each.
