Cheetahs, famous for being the fastest land animals in the world, are fascinating wild cats primarily found in the open grasslands and savannahs of sub-Saharan Africa. Their chosen habitat provide them with plenty of space to sprint and wear down their prey and also provides good visibility.

Cheetahs are carnivores, and their diet mostly consists of smaller hoofed animals like gazelles and young wildebeest. Thanks to their unique bodies,
cheetahs can reach top speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour. Their acceleration is also remarkable - reaching their top speed in just a few seconds. However, cheetahs can only maintain these incredible speeds for short distances of about 0.5 to 1.5 kilometers due to the risk of overheating.

Cheetahs are designed for their fast-paced lifestyle. They have a slender body built for speed, with a deep chest and a narrow waist. Their light, tawny-colored fur helps them blend in with the grass and hide from their prey. One of the most distinctive features of a cheetah is the black "tear marks" that run from the inner corner of their eyes down to the side of their mouth. These marks help to reflect the sun and focus their attention on their prey.

When it comes to family, female cheetahs typically give birth to three to five cubs at a time. The mothers then dedicate themselves to teaching their young how to survive and thrive in their wild, fast-paced world.
