FIMAN Flood Gauges in Dare County

As storms and high winds continue to bring the threat of coastal flooding to Dare County, a new online tool is available. Users can sign up to receive email and text alerts from a series of flood gauges located across Dare County and access any of the gauges online for information to help them assess the risk of flooding in that area.

The flood gauges are installed and monitored by the Flood Inundation Mapping and Alert Network (FIMAN). Gauges are currently located in Kitty Hawk, Avon, Cape Hatteras, Buxton, Rodanthe, Oregon Inlet, Manteo, and Duck. Gauges can be accessed in real-time so users can see water levels rising and falling. Visit Fiman.NC.gov or download the ReadyNC app to view the gauges and sign up to receive alerts.
