Former and disgraced BBC news presenter, Huw Edwards, has managed to avoid an immediate jail sentence after admitting to accessing indecent images of children. Edwards paid up to £1,500 to Alex Williams, a convicted paedophile, for images depicting child abuse. He continued to request images, even after being warned that the subjects appeared very young. During the sentencing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring stated that Edwards' "long-earned reputation" is now "in tatters." He sentenced Edwards to six months in prison, which will be suspended for two years. In addition to the suspended sentence, Edwards is required to: Complete a sex offender treatment program, undergo a rehabilitation activity and register on the sex offenders' list for seven years. Kevin O'Sullivan speaks with Talk presenter Russell Quirk and the presdient for the Association Of Child Abuse Lawyers, Peter Garsden. #news #breakingnews #uk #bbc #huwedwards #police #crime #talk #talkradio
