Winemakers Notes
The growers of this wine are Doug and Delwyn Bell. Doug's pride and joy is his newly restored and running Allison supercharged V12 out of a Curtis Kittyhawk. This wine is named in Doug and Allison's honour (we aren't sure what Delwyn thinks about this). We believe it to be the first varietal Marsanne to be made in New Zealand. Marsanne hails from the Rhone Valley in France and loved the warm and dry conditions that typified vintage 2013 in Gisborne. The fruit was harvested in pristine condition on 21 March and started ferment in tank. It was transferred to five year old oak to finish ferment and rest on lees until the end of May 2013. The wine was bottled in June 2013.
