When the Great War began Harold was only five years old. Sirens bellowed as nuclear warheads dotted the sky, turning the world mad. People fought to escape the approaching hellfire that inevitably consumed them, their guttural screams faded to nothing as little Harold descended into the bowels of Vault 29 to safety. His time inside the vault is unreliable as very little has been confirmed, but if we are to believe what he says, then he spent the next 13 years living alongside other children, there wasn’t enough food to feed them all, or water to drink, or parents to turn to as they had been left out of the vault intentionally, or died shortly after entering from illnesses they carried with them. This harrowing childhood turned Harold into a hardened young man, who upon turning 18 years old, was allowed to leave the vault to begin a new life. But there was very little that people needed other than transporting goods between the survivalist communities that had emerged across New California, so that is what he did for the next 6 years...
