Separating the wheat from the chaff in India

Andrew Kang Bartlett took this short video in one of the young farmer’s fields in a small village about 45 minutes bus ride from the city of Belgaum in Karnataka state, India in Feb. 2015. The mother of the farmer is separating the wheat from the chaff by knocking the seed heads with a wooden bat. These farmers are making the transition from conventional to organic wheat and vegetable production under the mentorship of Shiva-ji, an itinerant farmer instructor and guru.
