The West London Islamic Centre (WLIC) was established in 1984 to serve the needs of the then fledgling Muslim community of Ealing and Hanwell. The original Mosque based at 119 & 121 Oaklands Road, comprised of two shops that had been converted to accommodate men and women. In 1996 by the Grace of Allah (swt), an opportunity arose to purchase a large delivery depot/warehouse in West Ealing.

With a number of bids made for the well situated site, the Mosque offer was accepted and the current West London Islamic Centre & Jamia Masjid was established. Over the years the Centre has developed a positive reputation for its all-welcoming, inclusive service model and dedicated outreach work. In 2010 WLIC completed a land purchase of additional sections of the site from the London Borough of Ealing and in 2012 a new planning application for a purpose-built 63,000 sq ft scheme was submitted and later received approval.
