The abstract "squeegee technique" was
The abstract "squeegee technique" was popularised by the German painter Gerhard Richter. My abstract squeegee paintings are much smaller than his, but I work with different squeegee tools and acrylic paints. This involves squeegeeing different layers of acrylic paint on top of each other and then mixing the still wet acrylic colours together. The canvas in this video is 50 x 50 cm and has already been used by me for another painting. Since I reuse such canvases for my "Upcycling Series", it serves as a suitable background painting here. In this abstract acrylic painting, I keep destroying the surface acrylic layers with a very large squeegee in order to apply new acrylic paint afterwards with my small squeegee tool.
