The fastest way to easily export an Autodesk Revit model to Rhino (Rhinoceros 3D). Learn how to speed up the export/import process from Revit to Rhino and fix common errors. Exporting from Revit to Rhino is an easy task to perform, but some users get stuck on one or two vital settings that need to be configured. Let’s learn how to export from Autodesk’s Revit to McNeel's Rhinoceros 3D. You can only export a model from Revit if you are in a 3D view. Next, ensure your model is clean. This relates to removing any unnecessary complication of your model, including levels, section boxes and unwanted geometries. Exporting from Revit stores all information from walls, floors, roofs etc and puts these on layers when importing the model into Rhino. When exporting from Revit and importing into Rhino, there's no need to group or layer objects as it's done automatically for you. After cleaning up the Revit model, go to a 3D view and select file → export. Export the file as a DWG. In the export settings popup, go to "Solids" and choose ACIS Solids. Now open up Rhino to a 3D View and go to File → Import. From the drop down menu in Rhino, select DWG files and locate the files you want to import.
