Get instant online balustrade quote using our website online balustrade builder program. How to build a balustrade for a deck. Today we are installing the Tension Swage Stud System. This system has almost no visible fittings once installed and is suitable for both straight and stair sections. Please note that beveled washers are required when installing on a stair section. After providing Miami Stainless with your outside to outside post measurements (picture) and receive your hydraulically swaged wires, you can begin by pre-drilling your holes. Drill a 7.5mm hole on the rod terminal end post and a 9mm hole on the hex head tensioner end. Intermediate posts require a 7.5mm hole. Pass the swage stud through the end post until the rod terminal is tight against the outside edge and pass through intermediate posts. If you are using timber posts, use a washer for the rod terminal so it doesn’t pull into the wood. Insert the hex head tensioner into the opposite post and thread it onto the swage stud. The threads will meet inside the post. Tension the wire with a spanner and 1/4’ allen key. Your installation in complete (Show completed install).
