I came for treatment resistant depression, a mood disorder, and ADHD. So when I was going through like the standard psychiatric process of medication and therapy, I come in, I talk about my problems and then I leave and then rinse and repeat next week. And it's just like, nothing's changing. I just keep being reminded of my problems. The medication in my case it didn't do much. The way I found out about this place was through Dr. Lowe, I was a patient. He was treating me previously for these conditions. He explained the procedures and what they did here and it sounded very interesting and something like unorthodox that might help my case. So we had a consultation, we sat down and talked. They briefly explained what the procedure was and just some paperwork. And then I was there in two weeks or something, getting treatment. The first treatment, I didn't know what to expect. It was really funny, the way that they figure how much radiation you need is like, there's this very specific spot where if they hit that spot, your thumb goes up. I thought it was just so funny. It doesn't hurt. It kind of tickles. Within about three months, I started noticing improvement and that was around the time that it went back to school. I tried to take on a full semester for the first time and I was able to succeed. I passed, I did well, and I've had a lot more focus. I've actually been able to attend class and get things out of it. I remember I took linear algebra and I was just like, what are you saying? It just sounded like a Charlie Brown, versus now I'm like talking to the professor and like raising my hand after class and asking questions about stuff. I feel like I'm back to like the love of curiosity that I had before. I've had an improvement in my mood overall, an improvement in my focus and just my interest in just living my life. It was like a slow process and that's kind of what they told me to expect. The changes occur over time. But the interesting thing is that it holds. Given some time and some concentrated personal effort, you can get out of the hole. I feel like I did. ***
