A new mega-size LED screen has popped in tokyo’s shinjuku area. installed at the east exit of the shinkuku metro station, the new screen projects a 4K quality LED image for 18 hours a day spanning over three floors. thanks to its anamorphic illusion which reveals a 3D effect from a specific vantage point, the screen has gone viral because of a short video of a giant 3D calico cat.

Bright lights and countless billboards are one of the first things that come to mind when you think of busy areas such as Shibuya or Shinjuku. While the large screen at Shibuya Scramble Crossing may be tempting for advertisers, it doesn’t compare to the new high-tech billboard attached to Cross Shinjuku Vision, located across from Shinjuku Station’s east exit.

The digital billboard spans over three floors and stands out from the rest as it features a curved LED screen, which can display 4K images, and is accompanied by speakers. The curved screen allows for more depth and can also help create a jaw-dropping 3D effect. You’ve probably seen viral footage of these 3D screens in other countries including China and South Korea, where the ads seem to jump off the screen.

A gigantic 3D cat has appeared on a billboard in Tokyo, where it looms playfully over one of the city's busiest railway stations.
Shown between advertisements, the hyper-realistic feline comes to life on a 1,664-square-foot curved LED screen in the Shinjuku district. The 4K-resolution display shows the cat walking around high above the Japanese capital as it audibly meows.

Airing between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m., the video changes throughout the day. The calico cat is first startled awake in the morning, and by the afternoon it can be seen standing up and meowing at passersby. In the evening, it lies down and falls asleep with its head rested on its paws.
Although the display doesn't officially launch until July 12, test broadcasts have been taking place since last month. And the "Shinjuku cat" has already attracted attention online, with users calling it "cute" and expressing their amazement at the technology.
