On September 19, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake rocked Mexico.
The epicenter is in a sparsely populated area, 250 miles southwest of Mexico City in the western state of Michoacán, at a depth of 9.4 miles.
Tens of thousands of frightened people took to the streets of the capital and other places when the ground began to shake at 13:05.
The quake came just under an hour after the annual drills organized on the anniversary of the terrible earthquakes of 1985 and 2017.
Experts say that the probability of this is almost 0%.
The tremors were felt in 12 Mexican states, officials said.
Time was the main topic of conversation as people left their homes and gathered on the streets in search of protection.
"It's September 19 again? It's hard to believe" is one of the main questions of Mexicans.
On the streets, medical workers treated people suffering from shock and anxiety.
The only casualty was a man who was hit by the rubble of a shopping mall in Manzanillo, on the Pacific coast.
Footage from Manzanillo and elsewhere in the state of Colima shows damage to roofs, bridges and other structures.
Authorities in the neighboring state of Michoacán said more than 20 hospitals and clinics were hit among the many damaged buildings.
By Monday afternoon, more than 200 aftershocks had been recorded.
