Namrood was the King of Babylon and was active during the times when Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was vigorously opposing idolatry. He is said to be a strong man and a brilliant hunter. He was also a wily being and resorted to trickery and manipulation.
Hislop asserted that Semiramis was a queen consort and the mother of Nimrod,
The Qur'an mentions prophet Ibrahim's debate with a person whom Allah had given sovereignty (al-Baqarah, 258). The debate was concerning Ibrahim's Lord.
history reported that the death of Nimrood and his soldiers was caused by mosquitoes. Nimrood died because of a mosquito that entered into his nostrils and reached his brain, and this caused him to start hitting his head for a long time until he died.
