Using my Canon EOS 40d as a Webcam using EOS Webcam Utility. Enable Live View in Cam Setting & A-DEP

I read that it was possible above, so I tried it myself. There are two main warnings to trying this out:
1. Possibility of overheating/damaging your camera (I think the camera shuts off after 5-10min)
2. There is no auto-focus. I had to manually adjust focus.
With that WARNING.. and you still want to try it.
Setting up to use your Canon EOS 40d dslr to use as a webcam is roughly 3 steps:
Step 1) Set your camera to A-DEP mode. M, AV, Tv, and P will work also. But, if you leave it to Auto, it will not work.
Step 2) Go into your camera settings by turning on your camera. Then click the "Menu" button on the top left. Finally scroll to the 2nd wrench icon to find "Live View Function Settings". Click to go inside of here and make sure this is enabled ("Live View shoot"). Otherwise,.... it will not work as a webcam.
Step 3) Go to canon's website and download and install the Canon EOS Webcam Utility.
What does the utility app do? Essentially,.. your dslr.. will be recognized when you plug it in by usb as a webcam. COOL HUH!:

In this website... you can select any camera to download the utility. I believe the utility is the same for whatever you choose, but on the reddit.. someone suggested selecting the "60d".
Find "EOS Webcam Utility 1.1 Windows". Follow the steps to download and then install the software. Once it's installed, reboot your PC Machine.
Turn on your Camera again. Plugin the usb to your computer (you'll need a mini usb cable).
Finally, toast up a app like "Camera" on windows 10.. and switch the camera until you get to "EOS WEBCAM UTILITY". You should now see the video from your eos 40d dslr on the camera app for windows. HAVE FUN!
